Bangladesh government has regulatory framework to ensure sanitation services in the urban areas, like the City Corporation and Pourashava Acts (2009) which is assigned to local governments with the responsibility for sanitation service.

Citywide Inclusive Sanitation (CWIS) is a public service approach promoted by WaterAid for

planning and implementation of urban sanitation system to achieve outcomes of SDG 6.

WaterAid has mandated Onushndhani Creeds Ltd. to analyz the current scenario of faecal sludge management (FSM) and solid waste management (SWM) practice by developing Excreta Flow Diagram (SFD) and Waste Flow Diagram (WFD) for fifty municipalities in Bangladesh.
